One of my students, 17 years old Nadim Moughrabi, passed away two days ago in a car accident, I knew about it yesterday and I was really saddened by this big loss…
We spend years and years with our students, we enjoy having them around and we don’t mind seeing them leave as graduates, we know we’ll probably not see them again after graduation but that’s ok, they go on with their lives and it’s our job to get them ready for the rest of their journey after all…
Nadim was not just any students, he was special, a pure hearted, respectful yet fun person you just can’t ignore…
He left and we’re still stuck wondering what happened, we expect this young man to just walk into school tomorrow, singing away as usual…It’s just so hard for me and for every other teacher in school to see one of our young sons leaving this way.
The long teaching hours we spend with our students, watching them grow and mature, sharing the good and bad times with them makes us a big family, without knowing it we become so strongly tied that such a sad event affects everyone’s life so deeply as if a real family member has died…
May God grant his family, especially his twin brother Ayman who happens to be another student of mine, patience and strength and may God have mercy on our beloved Nadim.
